MP02 - Up Close and Personal is a collection zine inspired by the expressions of emotion in film. After doing some research and tests, I chose to work with romance and horror movies, as both fear and love are shown quite exaggeratedly in film. The zine itself I wanted to make something a bit more raw style of a photo collection (more of a rough look rather than cut and clean). Originally I wanted to use coloured cardstock (black and red) for specific text that goes hand in hand with the film screenshot on the page, but felt that since I decided to turn everything in black and white (to take out any colouring filter used to evoke emotion), and make it neutral, so the reader ca focus on the facial expressions and the emotion of the characters.
